The Geiq Transport AERA launches a CSR strategy with its stakeholders

Last week, the Geiq Transport AERA, which trains and places lorry drivers with the main logistics companies in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, received the results of its audit by all of its stakeholders. While Covid has hit the profession hard, the results show a high-performing organisation with a particularly high score, but also an organisation that will have to redouble its efforts to raise awareness of CSR issues in a sector that is still hesitant.

Following the audit by Rate A Company, an independent third party collecting CSR performance criteria, the Geiq Transport AERA came out with flying colours. With an overall score of 4.44/5, its members (clients), employees, training centres, partners, investors, candidates and referrers were able to respond in complete anonymity to the various criteria that directly affect their daily working lives.

Keeping commitments, quality of management, environmental initiatives, good business practice, innovation: nearly 90 criteria from the ISO 26000 standard were put to the various parties. Despite the sector’s difficulty in recruiting new drivers, employees gave their employer a score of 4.3/5. More than 80% of them also rated stress management and well-being 4/5 or 5/5, and more than 94% judged equal treatment in the workplace very good to excellent.

For their part, the Geiq’s service providers and subcontractors, which notably include the training centres preparing candidates for their future job, are unanimous about the quality of dialogue and listening. Nearly 77% gave it the top score. As for payment terms, no problem there either: once again, 100% of the providers who responded rated them very good to excellent.

However, this survey, intended to further improve the Geiq’s services, brought one reality to light: while the Geiq plays the CSR game, its stakeholders – who make up its professional environment – are not all aware of its principles and apply them poorly, which in turn holds back the association’s full performance.

To make sure it delivers the most beneficial impact for its members, employees, providers and everyone else who contributes to the success of the Geiq Transport AERA, the Geiq decided to launch a series of initiatives to explain the importance of sustainable development methods for the benefit of every link in the chain – the famous “win-win”. From September 2022, they will be providing a range of tools to become the driving force for positive change in the road transport sector of the AURA region.

For this CSR audit campaign, all stakeholders working with the Geiq were invited to respond anonymously to share their views and help improve transport activities.

The Geiq AURA supports transport companies in the AURA region with driver training and recruitment. This scheme, funded by the DREETS, helps people cut off from employment back into work by qualifying them for jobs in high demand among recruiters. Their training reflects the sector’s latest expectations, including a course in responsible and environmentally friendly driving. The Geiq Transport AERA undertook the CSR audit following the recommendations of the DREETS AURA and the GEIQ Regional Committee.

For a long time, the GEIQ Transport AERA held the best score awarded by its stakeholders. Recently, the GEIQ BTP Loiret surpassed these impressive results. In a spirit of complete transparency, the Geiq Transport AERA agreed to the publication of the results and comments from the various people who responded to this CSR audit, which you can view here.
