Understanding the French CSR certification "guarantee principle" and mobilize stakeholders around your CSR commitment
With the start of a new school year, two major CSR events will take place the week of October 14-17, 2024. The #SERI2024 in Paris organized by Medef National and AFMD and Le Congrès International de la RSE in Toulouse. Rate A Company was invited to present in detail the "Guarantee principle" for CSR certifications, which helps re-engage stakeholders and stem the tide of greenwashing.
The year 2024 was the hottest ever recorded. With inflation, inequality seems to be rising and so do incivilities. News that some American economists would have anticipated decades ago.
To manage the risks associated with these imbalances, Europe is looking to temporize, notably through regulation. France recently transposed the CSRD into French law, forcing companies to produce extra-financial reports. However, this method has not really borne fruit in the past. While CSR has yet to convince, some managers preferred a positive approach such as the label distinction. Many public tenders use it as proof of commitment, without mastering the subject. More and more French people are skeptical about the sincerity and validity of CSR-certified companies.
It was therefore important to present in detail the elements that will justify the quality of a CSR label and reassure stakeholders of the sincerity of the commitment.
To attend the event in person, come to the Cité de la RSE & de l'Impact in Toulouse on Thursday October 17 at 2:30 pm for the International CSR Congress

- The attitude and values of a CSR label
From regulations to common-sense principles, there are a number of technical elements that make it possible to assess the quality of a CSR certification, beyond the effects of advertising and marketing. We'll be presenting these elements, which is the result of experts' analysis and studies, in a panel discussion.
Clementine Hazeran, founder of Rate A Company, will be speaking on these topics. Created in 2015, Rate A Company was born of the ambition to have CSR criteria assessed by stakeholders on a rating platform. After a spotlight in the press in early 2019, several customers are asking for the stakeholder rating to be transformed into an official label so that they can further enhance the value of their global and inclusive CSR approach.
In 2022 and following more than two years of research and shuttling with INPI legal experts, Rate A Company's methodology for auditing a company's impact on the living world gave birth to the CSR label: a rating awarded by stakeholders. It is the 1st CSR label to be recognized as a Guarantee Mark by the INPI.
